The catalytic materials discipline at School of Materials Science and Engineering is devoted to study catalytic mechanism andnovel catalytic material, and to foster future specialists on catalysis. Ourresearches focus on fundamental studies and application of novel catalyticmaterials in critical catalytic process, including energy catalysis, environmental catalysis, novel molecular sieves, catalytic technique andintegrated utilization of solid waste. Based on fundamental material science,we aim to develop distinctive and practical scientific research and technicalinnovation, meanwhile to cultivate specialists on catalytic materials in highstandard. The institute composes of six professors (five of them are PhDadvisors) and six associate professors, and all the faculty are with PhDdegrees. The current space provision of laboratory is approximately 1500 m2that provides advanced devices for catalysts fabrication, assessment and characterization, including XRD, XPS, TEM, SEM, FT-IR and gas adsorption-desorption analyzer, etc. The institute achieves excellence in synthesis, characterization andmodification of molecular sieves, fundamental study and utilization ofcatalytic nanomaterials, which were published in high quality on top journalssuch as Nature Commun., JACS, Angew Chemie, Adv. Mater., Chem. Soc. Rev., etc.The institute collaborates with universities and scientific institutes inUnited States, Germany, UK and Japan. We have also built a long-termcooperation with companies like Nankai Yungong Company for industrialization.
